What should I wear?

For skiing: Wear your regular ski kit, or don’t! A dress, suit, vintage ski onesie, your fave Hawaiian shirt... It’s all welcome here. (We’ll be in a wedding dress and suit.)

For the party at P-Dog: Funky, fancy, fun. More cocktail and dressy-casual than formal. Having fun with your fit is encouraged! Pull out the sparkles, fringe, and furs. (See mood board below for some inspiration.)

Keep in mind that April at Alta is a coin flip, weather-wise. Could be our biggest powder day of the year, or T-shirt and shorts weather. Be prepared for anything!

Is it ok to sit out the ceremony?

High Boy is an expert run at Alta — one of the steepest — and getting there means a technical, bumpy traverse (side-stepping included). If you're not an advanced skier, please don't attempt it for the ceremony!

We don't expect everyone to join us up there, and there's genuinely no pressure to. It's a brief, low-key, casual gathering. We won't be up there long.

Feel free to gather at Slopeside Cafe — patio, if the weather cooperates — and we'll join you shortly for a celebratory Alta Bomb.

What’s the best way to get to Alta?

✳︎ Drive or carpool. Parking at Alta will be free this time of year. If it snows, make sure you've got AWD/4WD or traction devices.

✳︎ UTA ski bus (free with a ski pass).

✳︎ Uber/Lyft — can get pricey and gets trickier if it snows.

✳︎ Private shuttle services — a few options here.

Can I bring my kids?

Alta's a family-friendly resort, and there's plenty for kids to do in the SLC area if you're bringing them along.

That said, P-Dog is licensed as a bar — and in Utah, that means zero exceptions, no one under 21 allowed. So as much as we'd love to have your little ones at the party, they'll have to sit this one out.

What if I snowboard?

Sorry snowboarders — Alta is a skiers-only resort.

A few options:

✳︎ Give skis a try for the day! (Though we not-so-gently suggest sitting out the High Boy ceremony.)

✳︎ Ride at Snowbird (just down the road) and join us at the P-Dog later.

✳︎ Enjoy the day however you’d like and meet us at the P-Dog when you’re ready!

How do I get home after the party?

We are looking into some shuttle options for ya’ll toward the end of the night! We’ll keep you updated. Otherwise:

✳︎ Drive or carpool — please, do not drink and drive!

✳︎ Uber/Lyft — yes, they’ll come up to Alta, but can get pricey and tricky if it snows.

✳︎ Private shuttle services.

(Heads up: the UTA ski bus does not run this late.)

How much does it cost to ski Alta?

You can check lift ticket prices and buy one directly here. (Our wedding date falls in the off-peak window.)

If you're an Ikon passholder: the full Ikon pass works at Alta, but Ikon Base and Base Plus don't.

We can likely get you the Alta friends & family discount too — 25% off. Just reach out ahead of time so we can lock one in for you.

What if I don’t ski OR snowboard?

No worries at all! Skiing is completely optional and plenty of people will be sitting the mountain out.

The main event is our party at the P-Dog, starting at 5 PM.

Spend the day however you'd like — snowshoe near Alta, hike SLC's Foothills, or treat yourself at the Cliff Lodge spa down the road. Either way, we'll be ready to party with you later!
